When Mixmaster Morris brought back
an advance copy of May 1994's WIRED Magazine from his trip to the states in
early April, none of the British zippies had an idea as to just what this WIRED
thing was all about. The Internet was, at that time, a very novel thing in the UK.
I was already reporting on the Zippy scene on the WELL,
logged in from London. Excited by the opportunity to empower my British friends, I asked: "would you
like to begin an Internet dimension of the Tour to lay the groundwork for the actual US arrival?"
The answer was: "AYE!"
